Whole House Water Filtration

Jun 16, 2011

If you would like to make sure that the drinking water in your home is safe to drink, a whole house water filtration system can be your answer. You might ask, “why do I need the additional cost of a water filter? After all I’m using water from the municipal water district. Isn’t it ok for me and my family?

Why Choose a Whole House Water Filtration System

Let me share with you what happened in a recent test of tap water. Regular tap water was put in a glass. Then an electrode was inserted. The electrode caused contaminates to be “split out” from the water. These contaminants were then analyzed by a lab. The results that came back were “nasty”. Not only did the lab tests detect large metals, germs, and cysts…but it also detected wood pulp that had originated from toilet paper and tampons.

In the United States this year, water experts, drinking water managers and people from various fields of science met to discuss water quality and delivering secure water to the public. One of the training courses addressed the issue of decreasing and eliminating endocrine (hormonal) changing drugs from American family water supplies.

We can’t afford to bury our heads in the sand. We can’t afford to pretend the problem doesn’t exist. Read the municipal water reports for your area. In everyone, there is a disclaimer that reads something like this,

“Important Health Information” Some people may be more vulnerable to contaminants in drinking water than the general population. Immuno-compromised people, such as those with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, people who have undergone organ transplants, people with HIV/AIDS or other immune system disorders, and some elderly and infants can be particularly at risk. These people and/ or their caregivers should seek advice from their health care providers about drinking water.

When you consider everything from pesticides to drugs that have been flushed down the toilet, you potentially have over 2000 pollutants that can affect your water supply. These can be extremely harmful… especially when absorbed over a long period of time.

Now it would be able to blame the municipal water districts for the problem, but let’s be honest “it’s not their fault”. They have a limited budget and they do the best with the budget they have…but sometimes it just isn’t enough.

Dr. Oz devoted an entire afternoon to water quality on his TV show. It was entitled “Your Water is Making You Sick”. He ended the show by sharing with his audience everything you can do to protect your family.

First of all, you need to be proactive. Install either a whole house water filtration system on your home or if money is an issue a point of use system is better than not doing anything.

There are a number of water filtration systems on the market. Make sure you do your homework. Multiple filters are usually a good choice. They can remove a large percentage of the harmful chemical substances.

The peace of mind you’ll get from knowing your loved ones are protected is well worth the price. I’ve never looked back for a moment…and besides, there is nothing like a pure ice cold glass of water on a hot summer day.
