San Diego AC Experts Giving Back

At Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air, our team of San Diego Air Conditioning and plumbing experts have a pay-it-forward philosophy. We have been honored to serve San Diego County for the last 35 years, and we appreciate all that our community has done for us. We are grateful to be in a position that allows us to give back to that community. One of the various ways we do this is through our Random Acts of Plumbing, Heating & Air program. This is a program where the community can come to our site, Facebook page, etc. to let us know about a person, family or non-profit organization in need. Whenever we have the means, we will select one and help them in any way we can. You can read about some of the stories here.

San Diego Air Conditioning & Plumbing Help for a Santee Family

A young family of 5 consisting of a loving military father, still serving overseas, and his loving wife who cares for their 3 kids with special needs purchased a home in Santee after being reassured by a home inspector that it was in good condition. Their children, ranging in age from 2-5, suffer from severe respiratory illness. It is manageable in normal conditions, but they came to find out from a secondary inspection that it actually turned out to be a house with one of the worst cases of bad plumbing, ventilation, and drainage, causing terrible mold damage.

2 bathrooms had to be completely gutted to the frames to remove mold.[/caption] On a small military budget, with no other family nearby and unable to secure much help from local, state, federal government and other aide agencies, they used equity and the bit of money they could scrape together to fix a few of the issues in between the father’s deployments. Unfortunately, there is still much to be done. Gas lines were not up to code, and now, a mold company hired by Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air has found toxic black mold, forcing the family to be completely removed from the home. There is much more damage than anticipated so this will take some time. Beyond fixing all of the plumbing and HVAC to bring it up to code, Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air is also covering the mold repair. Many other companies like JW Flooring, Home Depot, and Servin Engineering, Inc. have joined forces to help this family.
