Mary Jean Anderson Talks About Her New Memoir,

the National Shortage of Skilled Tradespeople, and

Anderson Career Builder Institute

San Diego, CA (February 2019) – Mary Jean Anderson is one of California’s most successful business women. As owner/president of Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air, she oversees a company that has grown to over $30 million in annual revenue as they wrap up their 40th Anniversary year.

Anderson just released her memoir, “Here Comes Cannonball! Reflections on the 40th Anniversary of Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air.”

“I’ve been very blessed and hopefully by telling my story, others will find something useful for their own journey,” said Anderson.

“The title comes from our neighbor across the street when I was growing up. As I would shoot out of our garage on my bicycle, he would greet me with ‘here comes Cannonball!’ That always made me feel strong and powerful and I’d push harder to make my bike go faster! That ‘cannonball spirit’ has served me well. Somehow, I have always been able to push through, but to be honest, like the cannonball dive into a pool it hasn’t always been pretty!” added Anderson.

Mary Jean’s story is about a woman in the male-dominated industry of plumbing, heating and air. It’s also about family, perseverance, and the American Dream. It’s a story all entrepreneurs – especially girls and women – will find inspirational. With her company motto ‘Nobody wows clients like we do!’ you’ll be wowed by her courage and conviction.

In addition to her reflections on the past 45 years, Mary Jean also addresses the future of the home services industry – particularly the trades of plumbing, heating and air. Recent headlines have highlighted the national crisis in recruiting younger people into the trades as many professionals are aging out. Last year she launched the Anderson Career Builder Institute to provide apprenticeship training at no cost to successful applicants.

“To be a successful professional plumbing or HVAC technician within our field requires extensive training in all of the latest technologies designed to make our homes safer, more energy efficient and comfortable for our families. It’s a great career with six-figure income potential,” said Anderson.

The book is available on Amazon.com, Xlibris.com, BarnesandNoble.com and other online book sellers. More information on Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air and the Anderson Career Builder Institute at Anderson PHA.com.
