Plumber San Diego Helping Harvey Victims

Sep 15, 2017

San Diego Plumber, Brent Watkins grew up in Bayfront, Texas in the southeast part of Houston…

He’s been in touch with friends and family whose homes have been demolished by Hurricane Harvey. Watkins is currently a Plumbing Service Technician at Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air.

He is asking fellow San Diegans to donate supplies to help. He will be distributing the donated items directly to his family, friends, cousins, aunt, uncles and his mother. He will drop off any extra items at local shelters. Our company is providing one of our biggest trucks and a trailer. The goal is to load up the truck and trailer and take the supplies directly to the people of these communities where Brent grew up as quickly as possible.

When:

On Thursday, September 7, Watkins and George Perez, a co-worker/family friend (Brent is also the Godfather to George’s baby girl who just turned one-year old) will head to Texas. Hopefully, the rains will have subsided by then and they will be able to reach their destination in southeastern Houston. Currently there is no access due to flooding and devastation.

Why:

When Brent shared the devastating news from family/friends affected by Hurricane Harvey with his colleagues at work, he said everyone wanted to help. And being the problem solvers that they are, his request for a few days off to see what he could do on his own has turned into a much larger effort that will help so many more people. Brent’s 55-year old Mom has been safely evacuated – her home is completely flooded. She is staying with her daughter and son in law in Mount Belview. Seven of Brent’s close friends have completely lost their homes, destroyed/demolished. Some are staying in local shelters and facing an uncertain future.
