San Diego Plumbing Experts | A Family Legacy

Jul 24, 2012

It’s no secret that the industry of heating, plumbing and air is one often dominated by men. We at Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air are elated to announce that this past weekend, our very own Kelly Anderson was installed as the 2012-2013 President of the Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC)! She is the second female president in 120 years of the association’s existence.

A San Diego Plumbing Legacy

Kelly is preceded by her father, Walter Anderson, who served as PHCC President over 20 years ago. she is also following in her mother’s footsteps by venturing out into the “Men’s Club of Plumbing HVAC.” Mary Jean Anderson is President of Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air, which was recently named among the top woman owned businesses by the San Diego Business Journal. We plan to uphold that title with Kelly’s new PHCC position.

In the latest PHCC newsletter Anderson writes, “The PHCC has always been a great conduit of information for our family’s business; Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air, Inc. providing our services for 34 years. We have been proud members of the PHCC for 30 years. The fundamentals of the association have always provided a layout for which our company has modeled for so many years, education, training and hiring a licensed contractor, to name a few. Throughout the years, the PHCC organization and all those that have been involved in its success, have given a tremendous amount of time and dedication to our industry. My appointment as president is my opportunity to give back to an industry that has done so much for us!”

There will be many new and exciting changes during Kelly’s term. The PHCC offers an apprenticeship training program that continues to expand and has maxed out their current facility’s capacity. This means a move for the organization and they plan to be relocated, with a larger warehouse for hands-on training, in time for the August 27th school year start. Another exciting change is that the program will be expanded to provide training and certifications for heating and air conditioning technicians.

Kelly is honored to take on this new role and promises to handle it with professionalism, responsibility and with the best interests of the association and its members at heart. All of us at Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air are very proud of Kelly. We are thrilled that she is carrying on a family legacy and know that she will do an amazing job for the PHCC!
