Importance of changing your heater’s air filter regularly
For so many reasons it’s important to check out your heater’s air filter monthly, especially during heavy use months. If it looks dirty after a month, change it. At a minimum, change the filter every 3 months. Keep in mind that a dirty filter slows air flow and make the system work harder to keep you warm. It’s also a big waste of your energy. A clean filter will prevent dust and dirt from building up in the system…. leading to expensive maintenance and/or early system failure.
Tune up your HVAC equipment yearly
Just as a tune-up for your car can improve your gas mileage, a yearly tune-up of your heating and cooling system can improve efficiency and comfort. ….and extend its life. The average charge for a tune up will more than pay for itself.
